Watched High-Rise based on the JG Ballard book. It's fucking weird. Sort of "Margot and Jerry from the Good Life do Lord of the Flies". Have to say I liked it a lot. Plus the Portishead version of SOS (Abba) is haunting.

Doctor Strange has just dropped on Netflix so I thought I would give it a go.
Nice kaleidoscope special effects but it’s another comic book superhero origin story. Another story with a tick list of gaining iconic items. Too much CGI too.
Commerbatch is very watchable so that is its redeeming feature.
Just had time to watch this and I thought it was great. Yes you have to do the origin bit, but this was watchable. It is like watching a musketeers film and seeing D'artagnan challenge the 3 musketeers to duels, it needs to happen. The graphics really took me back to the old DS stories from the 70s. Not too sure about the cloak, or the choice of ancient one. (Not the sex, just not ancient enough)

I was in two minds myself there was trendy and pointless tick boxing, lets make a character a woman and much younger, presumably an older woman of the right ethnicity just would not do for the Ancient One? That's the sort of nonsense such social engineering ends up creating. :)

But that would be an irrelevance had they got the story right. For me it fell between two stools, they did the beginning well but then felt they had to go back to the hospital in the second half, why? The romance was forced and not true to the story, he had changed, so quite reasonable not to go back but go forward. For fans I don't need to tell you who he has to go forward to.

Keep meaning to watch this. I like Ben Wheatley's films but lost track of him after A Field in England. He is quite prolific (in a good way I think).

He'll be fine. Heroes for Hire, Defenders, Knight-Wing investigations (please please make that TOMORROW).

All we'll lose is that limp brother and sister. And they're no loss. There's nothing else in thst series worth redeeming.
For me Iron Fist was the best of the Marvel series. Luke Cage would have had my top spot but it faded in the second half of the series, so makes second place. Daredevil which everyone seems to think is the best comes in third. Jessica Jones seemed hesitant to think of itself as a supers series. That said I have not completed any of the second series as yet.
