Truth is I am not really resisting but rather looking forward to these:
Scum and Villainy, the Blades in Space game.
and

The Witcher TRPG!
After time spent in development, writing, editing, playtesting, more editing, layout, still more editing, approval, and even more editing, R. Talsorian is proud to announce The Witcher TRPG has been sent to the printers!

I am all tingly, I am such a fan of the books..

Resisting pre-ordering the new Warhammer RPG. Don't know whether to pick up the starter set as well - it's not clear what's in it, exactly.

Don't know anything about Witcher so that's easy to resist.

Resisting backing The Expanse RPG. I know I'll probably get it at some point...but not sure KS is the best way as shipping will likely be lethal.
I'm resisting the urge too as well, Simon. I will also probably wait for the actual release. After all the KS is fully funded.

I'm trying to resist the new RQ books. I'm going to wait until Christmas and then get them as slipcase edition for my present to myself. Having 13th Age in my paws soon will help me not rush off to Chaosium.com to purchase the pdf.

Ha ha ha! Recently, I am just seeking excuses to avoid splurging on new games, so with Warhammer 40,000 Wrath and Glory, it was the very expensive pre-order tiers, with The Witcher it is the game engine not being one that I know, and finally, with The Expanse, it is Green Ronin refusing to add printed books to the Stretch Goals (since postage will be expensive, I would prefer to cram maximum books for the fixed weight costs charged usually).

Plus, I noticed the A.G.E. system by Green Ronin has not taken off much prior to this very successful The Expanse Kickstarter, and if I do get into A.G.E. I may end up with the whole bunch, so I have to be careful with potential addition issues here. Ha ha ha!

It shouldn't be, the Kickstarter states that the shipping costs "will be EU-, Canada-, and Australia-friendly"

I failed on The Labyrinth and the 3 extra books that have come out of that Kickstarter, but to be fair I expected that to happen once I passed payday!

I found it quite easy to resist the follow up to City of Mist, Nights of Payne Town. First of all, I'm still ambivalent about the product following the monolith that crashed-landed on my doorstep. Secondly, the new Kickstarter managed to be extremely confusing in its presentation. The team behind it have admitted that they messed up the finances of the first Kickstarter (and there are a fair number of items yet to be fulfilled), and the priority on completing items from the new Kickstarter before the old is disappointing(*). I backed at £1 to see the updates and nothing was making me feel better. A shame really, as I'd backed the original at a high level. Anyway, they're going to cancel and relaunch the Kickstarter (despite Kicktraq suggesting that they will fund).

(*)Including splitting to core book into two big books before the campaign book.

[EDIT] They've cancelled. I think that they were surprised that it wasn't a runaway success like the previous one. They relaunch on 13th August, which actually seems a silly time for me because it's the middle of the summer holidays in the Northern hemisphere.

I am going full grim and merciless with my excuses for resistance.

So even though Zweihander won the ENnie for Product of the Year 2018, I felt justified in resisting their new Kickstarter, basically because Cubicle 7's Warhammer Fantasy Role Play 4th Edition is already in publication (with many pre-orders taken at UK Games Expo and in July).

But those of you who already have Zweihander, maybe their larest "Main Gauche" could tempt you. ;-)

I have to say, having read your feedback on City of Mist and the shenanigans of printing different versions, it seems wise TO NEVER GIVE THEM A PENNY AGAIN!

I'm actually withholding judgement on that, probably because I dropped about £80 on the first Kickstarter and I really don't want to walk away from that yet... I backed it at that level on the strength of the style and writing from the starter set so I thought that it was a reasonably low risk.

I want to read the core book properly before I bail from City of Mist as a line. The problem is the monster book that arrived (when I was expecting something more like Blades in the Dark or Scum and Villainy as a size) which vastly exceeded my mental image of what I was getting. To be fair, the description on the original campaign fluff was for a 200-page book. The art is gorgeous, but I'm more at the functional and clear and concise end of RPG design, and the content included doesn't seem to have significantly increased from that described when it started.

The decision to split the core book the way they have (and new stuff in) but keep it full size and do this before they complete on their past commitments annoys me. Expanding the scenarios into a full campaign arc, likewise. I'm not at James Wallis Alas Vegas levels of annoyance with this, it just needles me, irksomely, like an itch you can't scratch.

I enjoyed what I read in the starter set, and I also enjoyed the game I played at Continuum, but that was leaning more on the starter set. I need to read it and get a game sorted. But it sits behind Scum and Villainy and Vikingr now in my priorities for reading. Plus I need to go through Cthulhu City again and The Sword, The Crown and the Unspeakable Power before Furnace.

Zweihander just looked way too big of a beast for me so it was easy to resist. Warhammer RPG 4th Ed on the other hand...
