Introduce Yourself

Hi All,

My name is Rich, I'm from way across the pond (lately wishing my ancestors never made the voyage!) and living the dream in Asia nowadays (edit: China specifically, started a family here 13 years ago) with no plans to repatriate.

I'm 51, started with the original D&D boxed set when it was released. My big brother DMed and let me play with his friends! We weren't really fans of d20, so we hacked it with Arms Law and Claw Law for combat. Since then, I've dabbled in many systems but most notably played AD&D, 3.5, Rolemaster, Vampire, Fragged Empire and most recently several PbtA games.

Welcome. It is the rare person who has played "Fragged Empire" since it is a bit miniature heavy rules-wise for a modern publiished game.

Hey Rich, welcome! btw whereabouts are you in China? I get out to various parts each year with my job. Normally Hong Kong, then current 'faves' are Beijing and Wuxi., and occasionally Shenzhen.

I'm Phil, I think there's a few people here who know me already! I've been a gamer since the early '80s, mostly playing RuneQuest, D&D, and a broad selection of the better-known RPGs such as Traveller, GURPS, Shadowrun, WoD, etc.

I work for an IT consultancy which takes me all over the country, right now I'm in Sheffield for a while. Probably until the end of the year at least.

And yes, I'm terribly excited about the new RuneQuest.

Ok, I'm Mark a returning member of the Tavern v1.0.

Started playing in around 1975 with Tunnels & Trolls (Uk printing) and White Box D&D (4th printing I think).

I usually GM but like to play too. Recently we have played D&D 1e, 3e, 5e, CoC, Mutant Year Zero, Black Box Traveller, Runequest Glorantha, but I'll play pretty much anything once. I also have far too many boardgames. I'm a fan of Glorantha, Tekumel and the Third Imperium and don't know enough about any of them.

Just got back from Continuum 2018 in which I played Pendragon, 7th Age, Bethorm & Star Trek.

I also like cooking, walking, reading, cats, Jack Vance, Gene Wolfe, Hawkwind and other stuff. So there.

EDIT: Meriel has pointed out that apparently I like her too.

Hi, I'm Paul, from London originally but live in Loughton Essex. been playing RPGs since the early 80's. My game of choice is runequest, but generally play most games. Met the Troll overlord of this site at continuum and as he didn't seem too bad I thought I may as well join up.
