[generic] Genesys - just because

#1
Okay, I thought we can have a special "Genesys" thread, because this generic rule set from Fantasy Flight Games is one of my favourites for fast fun games.

Of course. Savage Worlds is still a great alternative, but if you want to roll funky dice, then Genesys is the one.

The latest announcement is the publication of the card decks for NPCs with stats easily accessible for the GM to run some ad-hoc encounters in the Realms of Terrinoth. I regularly use similar card decks for Star Wars so I think this variant will be neat for high fantasy genre games.

Oooo those look neat!

I'm itching to run some more Genesys, just weighing up when and how. Probably a con game or GraCon as I'd like it to be face to face.

Fantasy Flight Games sure know how to package their products in attractive bite sizes. I am eagerly awaiting the other settings, especially TanHauser (weird war) and Twilight Imperium (space opera). For steampunk, I already have Space 1889 from Clockwork Publishing (their latest Kickstarter is running to add a special Mars sourcebook too).

Is there a list of the fan-made conversions all in one place? I need to give it a proper look over. Terrinoth looks pretty, but a bit generic-fantasy (although I'm prepared to he convinced)

And this just in, in the ICv2 ranking of the top table top role playing games for Q3 just before GenCon 2018, we have GENESYS in the top five tier. Almost all my favorite games so I must be very mainstream (Pathfinder is the only one I skipped playing ever, since to me it is still a DnD3e knock-off).

I look to be getting the Terrinoth Foes and Adversaries decks for Crimble, which is nice. When can I get some Terrinoth onto the table? A regular monthly Sunday beckons me...
