As a retired professional software engineer I can without doubt say, in my opinion, the UI is about as poor as you can get and the output function pretty dreadful as well. You may like it but it's not a very good product and I'd never pay money for something like that.

Rail
It's Newcastle-Peterborough-Ely-Kings Lynn, 2 changes.
It can be [rarely but the one to take] Sheffield-Ely-Kings Lynn, 1 change.

Car
4:29 from NCL.
2:49 from Sheffield.

It's important to note that not everyone lives in London..
Yeah. Can I hire a boat and sail from Grimsby? I was looking at whether the one-change itineraries made sense. I think they do, but limited service.

You'd probably have to moor at King's Lynn or Burnham though - I wouldn't try mooring off Hunstanton at the end of January. Of course, you could borrow a day boat and beach it, but without a slip or trolley it would be a pain to haul it above the high water mark.

Wouldn't a coracle and a copy of the Celtic Bible be appropriate? Convert the Anglian pagans..

I’ve never been to a Conception/Con-Tingency, as getting to/from the South Coast seemed very difficult from Sheffield by train. This might be easier so - depending on work things - I might be able to make it. So one vote for “different location is good”, for what it’s worth!
How about visiting the old hometown the day before and then we can make the train journey together? Always nice to have a travel companion.
