A dragon has just attacked the city of Aleph, and you have been tasked with escorting a convoy to the nearby town of 'The Breech' - on the frontlines with the Orcs. Dragons have not been seen in the world of Mondorian for over a hundred years, and the presence of one now in northern mondorian threatens the stalemate between the Orcs and the Order of the Crown (a tentative allegiance between Humans, Elves, and Dwarves).

My friend Alaa is recruiting players for an online Roll20 D&D 5e game. He's a cool guy, and a new GM, although he's roleplayed on and off [often with me] since his teenage years. [he's in his late 20s]

We have 2 players [me and Alex V, if you know him] and we are looking for 2 more, interested in a Roll20 D&D game starting at 1st level and just having fun in what I think will be a fairly trad, starting out, sort of fantasy game. He certainly wants it to have legs, and so do I.

Send me a message via the conversation system, or drop your name here and I'll pass it to Alaa so he can invite you to the Roll20 page.

Hi all,

I'm going to post here a more detailed account of the campaign, alongside the world map for Mondorian. Further details concerning the various cities and religions of Mondorian are on the DnDBeyond campaign. I'll send links to that and for the Roll20 campaign to the two players who can confirm that they're in.

I'm using DnDBeyond for online character sheets, where a simple click reveals the Player's Handbook details for any spell/item and allows easy use of homebrew items etc. Roll20 will be used for mapping mainly if and when it's needed.

Background

The world of Mondorian is a solitary continent surrounded by a vast ocean. Though worlds beyond had always been rumoured to exist, the common folk of the land doubted whether anything really mattered beyond its shores. But Mondorian and its people's sense of security and solitude all changed during the red invasion; hundreds of thousands of Orks landed on the continent's northern shores seventy years ago and slowly advanced through these largely human lands. In desperation, the proud Order of the Crown called upon its Elven allies, the most martially adept of Mondorian's races, to assist in defence of the continent, and through wily strategy and a good choice of terrain they were able to hold back the Orks at the great northern valley, now referred to as 'The Breech'. That was just over sixty years ago, and an unsteady stalemate between the Orks and the three principle races under the crown of Mondorian - Human, Elf, and Dwarf - has held ever since.

To this day, the Breech remains the site of an undying battle. Under the command of a handful of noble High Elf families, with the Amakirs at the helm, the Breech maintains a steady defence against Ork assaults, reinforced from the nearby human port city of Aleph, whence the Order of the Crown sends it soldiers and supplies. Even the Dwarves, who usually make a habit of keeping to themselves, have continued to contribute to the defence of Mondorian with their knowledge of artillery, metalwork and a stream of raw materials brought straight from their mines at Mount Garren.

Perhaps the ancient races of the elves and dwarves are keen to help as they hope to exert more influence over the Order of the Crown, having found themselves in a precarious position with their numbers dwindling, outnumbered by the various human factions of the continent. Or, perhaps this new unknown and savage threat was all that was ever needed to truly unite them.

Prologue:

The town of Aleph has just been destroyed by a dragon, the first of its kind seen on the world of Mondorian for over a hundred years. As the people of the town flee in fear, most towards the capital of Lorian, Deckard Kane sends a convoy to the Breech along the sanguine road. In this convoy he sends a renowned Dwarven blacksmith, Grundill Bastik, and the high elf Roland Amakir, cousin of the Breech Commander, Wyland Amakir.
A small group of willing volunteers have been sent with the convoy to protect them, and are needed desperately at the Breech to reinforce it.

Do you have any idea what night, time etc. you will be running?
I was going to see what those interested would prefer as I'm quite flexible. I'd prefer to run sessions on Mon-Thu evenings, 6-9 or 7-10 (roughly), though as I said, I do have a fair bit of flexibility when it comes to that. Once a week would work well, although I'm also open to doing multiple nights a week on the odd occasion if people want to and have got the time. Once we've got a group we'll get the Doodle Polls going.

I don't get to play 5e much - I run it far too much :) - so I'm quite interested. I currently have one, maybe two irregular Monday online games, so if it could fit around that it would be great. I'm also usually free on Wednesdays. Tuesdays and Thursdays are currently impossible, I'm afraid.

Sounds good, Wednesday 6/7pm could be a regular slot that works well for me.
