[generic] What are you backing?

I've now upped my pledge to getting a hard copy assuming it'll be POD through Lightning Source/Drive Thru or via Aeon Games in the UK. Not sure how the revised shipping options will help any Europeans as now we're going to be out of the EU tariffs will be imposed (i.e. VAT plus anything extra for books)) which wouldn't previously happened when shipping within the EU.

Don't get me started on Brexit! :-( But the estimated delivery date is August 2020, which even with a little slippage should be before December 2020 when the tariffs and other horrors apply.

I don't think I backed anything all last year, so a bit random when I stumbled across:

1st Ed of it was a pretty, but fairly unremarkable, OSR game. This one looks much more interesting. Still OSR but lower magic, a slimmed down list of classes, and some great art. Funded in a day, it's blowing through stretch goals almost as quickly as they can put them up. Still just pdf though because *shipping* but it gives me flexibility to print in whatever format I want. Last couple I've had done (King of Dungeons and Black Hack 2E) as A5 spiral bound. Not fantastically robust but plenty usable at the table and pretty cheap.

It's ZineQuest time again! Which means that as well as the smattering of normal RPG Kickstarter projects, there are an ungodly number of pamphlet RPGs on offer, a plethora of 30-odd page wacky theme lightweight games.

I'm trying hard to avoid backing everything that looks cool (like I did last year), so does anyone have any recommendations?

I've backed the obvious OSR ones

Hunters in Death - an OSR hexcrawl https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/gothridgemanor/hunters-in-death

Mudharbour - Black Hack meets Shaw Brothers Kung-fu https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1361661542/mudharbour

(both are well within their last day, Hunters has 7 hours at time of posting, Mudharbour 17hours to go).

And on a different track I've picked up The Company, which is a self-contained game of Corperate Survivial horror, in two zine format booklets, in in pdf because the shipped price to the UK is a bit silly so I'm taking the print at home option ;) https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/logandean/the-company-rpg

That sounds like fun - last year one of the final year students I was supervising did a preservation proposal for the abandoned-to-be-redeveloped-into-luxury-housing Shaw Studios, and another was doing an internship in the last remaining office building just before it closed down (unbelievable panoramic views of Clearwater Bay, I don't know how they got any work done looking at that). A real piece of history about to be exorcised. My student wanted to turn it into a film school/museum, pretty cool idea.
