TravCon 2018

#7
Where is this strange and mysterious place called TravCon, if you do not mind making it public here?
It's the once a year con dedicated to Traveller and organised by British Isles Traveller Support. Held in a small hotel just off the original Great North Road, a biscuit toss away from Peterborough and next door to a curry restaurant. Usually held early March. It runs from Friday Afternoon until Sunday afternoon with a of five game slots in total.

It's the weekend after Revelation. Usually fills pretty much immediately with past attendees.

North Star started as a plan for TravCon North (although ironically TravCon was originally held in the North in Hebden Bridge) but we decided to broaden it.

Thanks for broadening the convention with the North Star Convention. Hopefully, there will be many Traveller games there too and we can all sate the appetites of those of us wanting to experience the much famed character death during the Traveller character generation arc.

Please post up some pictures and play reports here. I'd love to be there, but rationing my convention times away has limited the number I will attend this year.

Not if you refuse to play any of the revisionist versions and stick to the original (though my books are 81 versions, not 77 ☹️).

- Neil.
True.. altho' one wonder why refusal is appropriate, would you actually refuse to play a modern ruleset?
Is 'choose' a better verb?

I might have been being a tad provocative ?. Given how little gaming I get to do these days it’s fairly safe to say I wouldn’t refuse to play a modern iteration of Traveller given the opportunity.

As Neil says, there are quite a few reports on the Facebook page. We were a bit hit by the weather, but reduced down to 4 games. I arrived late, Saturday morning and had fun. Started up in game where I was playing a Chirper, then ran the Reaver's Deep Privateer game I've been working up, then played with a bunch of unsavoury criminals in a couple of heists. Stayed up too late.

Pimped the Tavern and North Star at the end ;-)
