I can recommend the Quintaglio Ascension series. I reviewed it back on one of the old Tavern sites:

The Quintaglio Ascension trilogy by Robert J Sawyer after picking up the Kobo freebie for book 1 (Far-Seer, Fossil Hunter and Foreigner). A great read. Basically, the premise is intelligent dinosaurs going through their version of the Age of Enlightenment with the added complication that they have to get off-world before the world is destroyed.
Far-Seer riffs off Galileo
Fossil Hunter riffs off Darwin
Foreigner riffs off Columbus and Captain Cook
I'd love to see more of the Quintaglios' story.

The better half likes these, so thought it worth mentioning that 10 of the Donna Leon Brunetti novels are £0.99 in the deal of the day on Amazon.co.uk

Unfortunately, unlike the Camilleris that have been recently on deals, these are jumping around in the series - #1 & #2, then #7-#14, otherwise I might have taken a punt. Mind you, I've now got up to #16 of the Camilleris, and still only read #1 so perhaps I won't.
