I enjoyed them back in the 80s (I still have my 1st edition HC of The White Dragon, and a collectible chapbook), but I haven't read any of the later collaborations with Todd McCaffrey.

What are people's opinions of the Pern books? I have never read them?
I read them a lot in the 1980s, when my Dad had them all. If I remember right, The White Dragon was one of my favourites. I don't own them now and haven't had the urge to return (unlike the Foundation books which Maddz just posted that I re-read about once a decade and have my father's copies).
