Spacetime is a parody storygame inspired by sci-fi cartoon series like Futurama and Final Space: the players collaborate to create episodic stories of space adventure by portraying a cast of eccentric characters who get caught in challenging situations that are often of their own making. The game mechanics are deliberately simple and focus on the problems faced by the characters in each episode, rather then on the characters’ own successes and failures, though those do still determine the pacing of the plot.

The Elder Scrolls Call to Arms Core Rule Book

Welcome to Tamriel – a realm of adventure and wonder. Where danger lies around every corner and where fame and fortune await the bold. It is a realm you can enter today, if you have the courage to answer the Call to Arms!

The Elder Scrolls: Call to Arms is a tabletop wargame set against the epic, sprawling backdrop of Tamriel. From the teeming cities of Cyrodiil to the towering mountains of Skyrim, across the ash-plains of Morrowind, and through the steaming swamps of Black Marsh, you must lead your Party of bold warriors on the path to glory. In this game, you must select a mighty champion to lead your Party, surrounding them with heroes and staunch followers. Players can take on quests, unearth magical artifacts, and fight roaming monsters as they do battle against their opponent, using a combination of strength, stealth and magic to win the day. Call to Arms is a simple game to learn, but a challenge to master; your Party can be assembled in an almost endless variety of ways, each unlocking new tactics and abilities with which to test your skill as a commander and challenge your enemies.

Whether exploring trap-filled dungeons, or battling in some windswept wilderness, Tamriel is yours to explore – or exploit – as you see fit, building your forces to take on all comers. This rich setting gives players the opportunity for a vast array of different game types and play styles, as well as collecting and modeling highly detailed, characterful miniatures from The Elder Scrolls universe.

The Elder Scrolls Call to Arms Escape From Helgen

This FREE PDF contains basic tutorials for those who are new to tabletop wargames. The Rulebook contains the full rules, while the Quest Book contains scenarios that structure your gaming experience. This booklet leaves out the full tactical complexity of the game in order to ease you into the adventure, one mail-shod step at a time.

Experienced tabletop wargamers may prefer to dive straight into the Rulebook, whereas brand new players are encouraged to start here, learning the game step-by-
step. At each stage, once you feel you’ve got the idea, feel free to move on to the next tutorial.

The Elder Scrolls: Call to Arms is played by moving and exploring with the models under your control, and attacking and defending against the enemy. As you play, you’ll be looking to complete Quests and claim battlefield Objectives in order to score points and assure victory.

Handiwork game gives us something Anglo-saxon for 5E roleplaying

Handiwork Games have released an entirely free full-length adventure for D&D 5E. The adventure is called The Hermit’s Sanctuary and is an introductory adventure, which should see you getting tee’d up for the forthcoming Beowulf: Age of Heroes.

You can get the adventure on DrivethruRPG here

The free 5e Adventure has:

  • a complete, 52-page adventure for one GM and one Player
  • optional poster-sized PDF battle maps for all locations
  • optional VTT-friendly battle maps for Virtual Tabletops
  • four pre-generated characters
  • printable accessories: inspiration tokens and inspiration pool
  • blank character sheet
  • rules reminder sheet
  • handy adventure flowcharts

We last wrote about Handiwork when they released their trailer for the return of A|State

Here’s what Jon Hodgson, owner of Handiwork Games, said about Beowulf, and the free adventure:

“We’ve been working on Beowulf for over a year now, and now after the months of hard work and testing it has really come together, delivering the play experience we want to capture. And so now we have decided to share! We’re really keen to bring BEOWULF to a wider audience to see how you get on with it. And now seems like a perfect time to be playing in a small group.

In Beowulf you play a Hero, which is a new class we’ve created especially for 5e, with subclasses for each ability score. You’re accompanied by a band of followers, who make up for the absence of other player characters. You travel mythic, ’dark age’ Europe, hunting down monsters, uncovering their weaknesses, and slaying them!

We’ve worked hard on creating a set of modified 5e rules that give you the ability to really enjoy a one player adventure and that brings tons of setting-flavour. The best way to showcase what we’ve built was to let you play, and so we’ve released the Hermit’s Sanctuary.”

(PS. Yes, I know Beowulf isn’t technically Old English, don’t @ me.)
Sharing this from @Loz , for which many thanks!

As many are in isolation right now, and may have some time on their hands, we thought it would be a good idea to share 'Shrine of the Traitor Gods' with you.

Please feel free to distribute this file or link to it; I'll be putting a link to it myself in various other places.

'Shrine of the Traitor Gods' this is a self-contained adventure designed to introduce complete newbies to Mythras without the need for the full rules (or even Mythras Imperative). I wrote it for a one-day arts roleplaying festival held in a town near where I live last year, knowing that a lot of curious non-roleplayers would be attending, and might want to see what all the fuss is about. I think I ran the scenario three or four times, and it was great fun each time.

It's not designed to replicate the core Mythras rules precisely, so there are is a lot of heavy adaptation for a specific audience.

We hope you enjoy it!

I just released Countdown Dungeon, a Roll & Write dungeon quest game that you can play solo or with friends, as a one shot or a series of games if you like; there's even a spreadsheet to make it even easier to play on your device or with friends online on the platform of your choice.
