I’ve got a long association with HeroQuest, having played the game from its first incarnation HeroWars in 2000. I’m delighted that Moon Designs is allowing other publishers release non-Gloranthan supplements under the Open Gaming Licence. D101 Games will be fully embracing this amazing opportunity and releasing a number of HeroQuest supplements in various genres.

First up is ‘The Road less Travelled’ a Genre Pack for Fantasy adventure due late summer/early autumn 2009. A nice simple generic but flavoursome setting, with HQ2 advice on how to handle standard fantasy troupes such as dungeon and wilderness adventuring, a fantasy bestiary, example fantasy religions, magic items, a complete adventure and a region detailed and populated for free-form/sandbox play.

Next is John Ossoway’s ‘River of Heaven’ a Hard Sci-Fi setting set in the 28th Century, see the flyer on the right for more details, coming in 2010.

Other supplements are in the pipeline but won’t be announced until they are nearly ready to publish.

Visit http://d101games.co.uk/books/heroquest/ for more details including cover images.

Hey, I'm trying to find info on "Road Less Travelled" on your website, but nothing's there. Seems like the page/links are gone.

Is this book still in the works?

Newt is on holiday for a week or so, so your answer may be delayed!

I took the HeroQuest page down because I've been having a serious rethink about what I plan to do supplement wise.

In short Road Less Travelled has been cancelled. It wasn't coming together as a fun book for me, so I cut my losses and called it a day.

The good news is that I'm still on for doing River of Heaven (John Ossoway's Hard Sci-fi setting) as a HeroQuest supplement (along side the standalong OpenQuest powered version John is working on), and I've got two new supplements, firmly in the works (as in a good 50% written).

Tales of Blood and Thunder - Epic Fantasy
Lost Fools of Atlantis - Black Comdedy based upon occult conspiracy theory.

Both the above should see the light of day in the first Quarter of 2010.

I should be updating the web page sometime over the christmas hols, with covers and previews.
